Carrier Continues Building a Strong “Familia” During Hispanic Heritage Month
Whether it was running a 5K in support of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, enjoying a “fiesta style” lunch catered by food trucks or participating in a webinar with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Carrier employees celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with numerous activities organized to drive greater awareness of the rich and diverse culture of the Hispanic community. Carrier’s Hispanics & Latinos Employee Engagement Resource Group, or CHEER, sponsored the month’s events around the theme of “Juntos to Win” or “Together to Win,” a powerful reminder that no matter where we come from - we will always be stronger together.
Later in the month, more than 75 employees ran and walked in the CHEER4FiveK 2021, a 5K race at Carrier’s world headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida to benefit the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Carrier’s generous donation to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund supports its Corporate Social Responsibility focus, as the company is committed to making a positive impact and investing in the continuous development of a diverse workforce within its communities.
“CHEER is proud to support Carrier’s goals of advancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and build a strong sense of familia,” said Maria Llamas, CHEER Chair. “It is very important that we work to inspire and support our colleagues every day.”
