CIAT Launches its Newest Range of Air Handling Units: CLIMACIAT™
Today, CIAT announces the launch of CLIMACIAT, its innovative new range of air handling units (AHUs). The CLIMACIAT range is available in three models - Airtech, Airclean and Airaccess, and features innovative, energy-efficient, and easy to install units for a variety of commercial applications. CIAT designs, manufactures and supplies heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) solutions that optimise energy consumption and enhance indoor air quality and comfort in buildings. CIAT is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
The CLIMACIAT range, which is the culmination of more than 10 years of research, tests and simulations, is certified to perform to the latest European standards (EN 13053 and EN 1886) and designed to meet future regulatory requirements applicable from 2018. This fully modular range features the most recent technological innovations, with more than 26 functions that can be customized to meet specific customer needs.
“At our state-of-the-art Culoz Research and Design Center, we reproduce climate conditions as close to reality as possible (sun or rain exposure tests …) and take into account these external elements to study the behaviour of different materials and make the optimum choice,” says Jean-Michel Navarro, director, Culoz Research and Design Center, CIAT. “Tests are performed on mechanical deformation, airtightness and the insulation of panels, or the air flow over the heat recovery units, for example, enabling an optimal level of energy efficiency and indoor air quality to be reached.”
Such control over the entire manufacturing process, from design to production, enables CIAT to offer its customers a comprehensive and optimised range of solutions. CLIMACIAT is available as single-flow and dual-flow horizontal units for indoor installation or outdoor installation with canopy and weather-resistant protective accessories.
CLIMACIAT Airtech is the flagship model of the range. It comes in nine sizes with air flow rates of up to 30,000 cubic meters per hour available in the first phase of the product launch, with further capacity units in the pipeline. CLIMACIAT Airtech is perfectly tailored for a wide range of applications including offices, administration and industrial facilities. Many options are available to address specific needs, such as a double wall construction and 50 millimeter insulation for extra noise attenuation, polyester-coated exterior panels, low thermal bridge construction, doors on frames with large handles and adaptable control systems.
CLIMACIAT Airclean is the air-handling solution for controlled environments such as clean rooms, medical facilities, pharmaceutical industries and microelectronics. It is specifically designed to satisfy the particularly high requirements of ultra-clean environments: decontamination, airtightness, absolute filtration and easy, minimal maintenance.
CLIMACIAT Airaccess is CIAT's solution for multi-use commercial buildings. It is designed to achieve the highest performance levels in complete compliance with the relevant standards and regulations.
A major innovation for CLIMACIAT, a CIAT electronic control unit is now available across the entire range. This control unit can be connected to any building management system to optimise the energy efficiency of each unit by regulating its temperature and humidification or dehumidification levels and by managing its fans, filter fouling levels and water coils. This control function is fully integrated into each unit (box, wiring, sensors, etc.) and can be easily selected using the dedicated software and tools. A packaged plug and play version is available on request.
Energy-efficiency was a major consideration in the design and development of the entire CLIMACIAT range. The result is a range of AHUs that offer the best fit for purpose with a wide selection of heat recovery ventilation units, ranging from rotary heat exchangers with efficiency levels of 75-85 percent and plate heat exchangers with efficiency levels of 60-85 percent. And for even higher thermal performance, CLIMACIAT is compatible with more than 10 different types of filters available in sizes that limit pressure drops.
CIAT also offers CIATM2M, an optional service offer that monitors facilities and equipment around the clock to help customers improve their energy efficiency. With CIATM2M, customers can remotely monitor and control the operation of their facilities 24/7. This service improves equipment availability rates, optimises equipment usage and provides customers with technical support from CIAT's experts in real time.
“We are proud today to present the new generation of CLIMACIAT air handling units. The launch of the CLIMACIAT range is the culmination our efforts to provide our customers with a complete range of reliable, innovative and tailor made air handling solutions,” said Nicolas Chouteau, managing director, CIAT. “We are confident we can best serve our customers for all types of applications as CLIMACIAT combines efficiency and modularity.”
