Carrier Employees Help Build Sustainable Habitat for Humanity Community During Carter Work Project Week; High Efficiency HVAC Systems Donated to Support Newly Built Homes
Carrier is committed to supporting organizations that promote sustainable solutions designed for the planet’s greatest environmental challenges, while giving employees the opportunity to volunteer their time and talent.

For the fourth year, Carrier supported Habitat for Humanity as a gold-level sponsor of the Carter Work Project. As Habitat’s signature build event, former President Jimmy Carter and late first lady Rosalynn Carter rallied volunteers for over 35 years to make housing accessible for all.

This year’s event took place in St. Paul, Minnesota, in The Heights, a neighborhood designed to be a model for sustainable, resilient and affordable housing. The Heights is pre-certified as a LEED Platinum community and, when complete, will feature all-electric development, Carrier-provided air source heat pumps for heating and cooling, water conservation efforts, solar panels and other environmentally responsible initiatives.

“Carrier is proud to donate 40 high-efficiency HVAC systems and smart thermostats to support homes built during the Carter Work Project week and beyond,” said Gaurang Pandya, President, HVAC Americas and Commercial HVAC EMEA. “The all-electric ductless split systems offer high-efficiency operation while reducing the energy loss associated with forced-air systems.”

Along with the product donation, Carrier also provided a cash donation to support the project. Carrier employees participated in the weeklong volunteer event to build affordable and sustainable homes from the ground up. “As an organization, we are committed to environmental sustainability and supporting our communities. Our partnership with Habitat for Humanity’s Carter Work Project allows our employees to volunteer and contribute to building sustainable, affordable housing,” said Milena Oliveira, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing & Communications Officer.
