Carrier Helps Build More Sustainable Communities Through Global Employee Volunteerism
At Carrier, sustainability is more than a commitment—it is a call to action. Around the globe, Carrier employees are driving tangible environmental change through Carrier’s global volunteer program, creating green spaces in local communities where they live and work.

“Hundreds of Carrier employee volunteers participated in planting activities to make a sustainable impact in 2024,” said Milena Oliveira, Carrier Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing & Communications Officer. “I was proud to see employees taking their skills outside of the office, working collectively to help make our communities a little more green and vibrant.”

Driving Sustainability in India

In Hyderabad, 50 Carrier volunteers partnered with Maulana Azad National Urdu University, one of the oldest heritage sites in the area, to plant 500 trees on campus. The project will help increase green coverage, improve air quality and conserve biodiversity for years to come. The project also intends to foster environmental stewardship and sustainable practices on campus, as the university and the student community will take responsibility for nurturing the trees.

At Hyderabad’s Agricultural University, another 50 Carrier volunteers planted 150 saplings at the Botanical and Horticulture Garden and donated another 150 plants along with solar fencing to support local farmers. Powered by the sun, the fencing ensures sustainable plant protection, enabling farmers to safeguard their crops while minimizing environmental impact.

Restoring Nature in Mexico

Near Monterrey, nearly 40 Carrier volunteers gathered along the Rio La Silla lowlands to plant 40 native trees and 40 shrubs. The river is a primary source of water for the Monterrey community. This project aims to lower local temperatures, improve water infiltration, prevent flooding, protect infrastructure and enhance overall health of the river. Additionally, it will support wildlife habitats and benefit pollinator species in the area.

Creating Green Space in Florida

In North America, nearly 40 Carrier volunteers contributed to a community garden in Florida, planting trees and assisting with plant collection and restoration efforts. This garden serves as a green space for the local community and plays a critical role in addressing food insecurity by providing fresh produce to those in need
