Carrier Named One of America’s Greenest Companies 2024 by Newsweek
RIT

Carrier has been named to Newsweek’s America’s Greenest Companies 2024 list. Published in partnership with Plant-A Insights and GIST Impact, the inaugural list recognizes the top 300 companies in the U.S. based on the following sustainability criteria: greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, waste generation, and commitments and disclosures.

As Carrier transforms its portfolio to establish itself as the world leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, the company is accelerating the shift toward electrification, more connected technologies and environmentally responsible refrigerants. Earlier this year, Carrier announced a portfolio transformation that will position the company to better help customers reduce their carbon footprint and meet their sustainability goals by improving energy efficiency in buildings and homes, and across the cold chain.

The portfolio transformation builds on Carrier’s longstanding focus on sustainability, which includes bold goals such as targeting net zero GHG emissions across its value chain by 2050 and helping customers reduce their GHG emissions by more than 1 gigaton by 2030. Since 2020, Carrier’s high-efficiency and lower global warming potential refrigerant products have enabled customers to avoid more than 212 million metric tons of GHG emissions – equal to the annual energy use of nearly 27 million U.S. homes.

This marks Carrier’s second sustainability-related recognition this month. Earlier in September, TIME named Carrier to its inaugural World’s Best Companies list, which recognizes the top performing companies globally based on employee satisfaction, revenue growth and sustainability.
