In celebration of Earth Day and as part of Carrier’s goal to positively impacting communities in which we live, work and operate, Carrier employees are participating in clean-up activities across the globe to help shape a sustainable future for a better tomorrow.

 

From Monterrey, Mexico, to Indianapolis, Indiana, employees are volunteering their time to improve public spaces near Carrier facilities. On April 19 near its global headquarters in South Florida, employee volunteers removed debris from a local beach to help restore and conserve the shoreline for the upcoming sea turtle nesting season. Armed with gloves, mesh bags and trash grabbers, volunteers worked to beautify the shoreline behind Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

Also this Earth Day, Carrier was recognized for its global environmental leadership and sustainability practices by the World Environment Center (WEC). Carrier was named the recipient of WEC’s Gold Medal Award for International Corporate Achievement in Sustainable Development. The award is presented to a global company that has integrated sustainability into its business practices, created innovative solutions to address critical environmental and social challenges, and demonstrated global leadership to accelerate progress toward a sustainable future.

 

Carrier’s sustainable solutions are helping customers achieve their decarbonization and climate change goals. Carrier recently announced plans to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and unveiled its road map to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050, complementing its existing goal of helping customers avoid more than 1 gigaton of GHG emissions by 2030.

 

Carrier incorporates sustainable practices throughout global operations - aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, water withdrawal and waste to landfill.
