Located in Ithaca, New York, Cornell University features a Biotechnology Building that is home to advanced scientific research. To reduce energy costs and improve safety in the labs, Cornell turned to Automated Logic and the WebCTRL building automation system.
Combined with an energy savings and lab safety program, the WebCTRL retrofit saves Cornell nearly $350,000 annually in energy costs. Due to these types of efficiencies and the system’s ease of use, WebCTRL installations were completed in a number of additional facilities on campus.
In 1950, a school was founded in Atlanta, Georgia to give K-12 students with language-based learning disabilities and differences alternative approaches to learning. When updating its existing HVAC system to improve student comfort and ease of system maintenance, the school turned to Carrier.
Carrier's solution included VRF heat recovery and heat pump units, cassettes, ducted units and touch-screen controllers. The space-saving system was easy to install and enables easy servicing while providing efficient operation and precise comfort to facilitate the best possible learning environment.
Texas Christian University spans a 95-building campus in Forth Worth, Texas. As part of an overhaul of the university's entire fire alarm system, Edwards installed an EST Fire Alarm System consisting of graphical workstations, control panels, network switches, high-powered speaker arrays and thousands of individual detectors and alarms.
Upon its completion, Texas Christian became the first college campus in North Texas to install a complete voice notification system with both indoor and outdoor speakers. In addition, Edwards installed a newly dedicated fiber backbone to support the Fire Alarm System, which was integrated with the university’s secondary notification system.
