Hakan Yilmaz is Senior Vice President, Chief Technology & Sustainability Officer for Carrier. In this role, he is responsible for Carrier Energy, an organic start-up business created to develop energy management solutions for our customers and help alleviate the demand on the grid as the world continues to electrify. Hakan also oversees Carrier’s innovation and advanced technology strategy. Additionally, he is responsible for Carrier’s sustainability strategy and initiatives and is charged with accelerating progress toward Carrier’s 2050 net zero goal, which is anchored in reducing customers’ carbon footprints with innovative products and leading home and building energy management solutions worldwide.

Hakan joined Carrier in 2022 and has more than 22 years of experience in engineering, technology, innovation, product management and strategy organizations in the Automotive and Aerospace industries at Bosch, BorgWarner and Honeywell. In his last role at Honeywell Aerospace, Hakan served as Chief Technology Officer, responsible for global engineering and technology teams, leading the company’s advanced technology strategy and road-mapping for the businesses, while also driving key transformations to break-through technology development, customer-focused innovation and optimized operations.

Hakan earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Orta Dogu Teknik Universitesi, Ankara, Turkey and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering and engineering management from the University of Michigan.
